Digging Week 27th Aug - 2nd Sept

by PCW ~, 12 August 2006

From Tony Baker

Come and get involved! Everyone, from mud-stained digger to complete novice, is welcome to come and join in, and by the end of the week we hope to be celebrating the club's anniversary with some significant new finds.

Plenty of sites worthy of attention have been suggested, with some advance preparation having already taken place. On the Penwyllt side of the valley the plan is to restart work at the site known as 'Chas's Old Dig' and already the clockwork cavers have their eyes on this.

Bill Buxton is hoping for some assistance at his project, known as Cwm Dwr III, and Hot Air Mine has been proposed as another site worthy of attention after a long absence, while underground an intriguing bolting project in Ogof Ffynnon Ddu III is being lined up. Also there is the potential for digging in and above Dan yr Ogof.

There'll also be a slide show at some point during the week so feel free to bring along your slides, cave-related or otherwise.

(Don't forget the week kicks off with a fund-raising bash for WBCRT on the evening of Saturday 26th August.)

See you there!
