Penny Tutt

by PCW ~, 30 September 2008

We are sad to report the passing of Penny Tutt (known to us otherwise as Penny Salt or Penny Judson).

She died this morning of a stroke. Penny was in her mid 60s.

Penny was a very active caver and Club Member in the 60s and 70s. She was married to Frank Salt and then Dave Judson. Also a member of Cardiff University Caving and Climbing Club, she encouraged many of their members to join SWCC at the time. She will be remembered by many for her lively personality and her service to the Club as its Secretary for some years. (Photo of Penny on the Pennine Way in 1976 by Brian Jorgensen)

Her funeral is to be held at Overdale Crematorium, Bolton (on the road to Preston from Bolton) at 2.30 pm on Friday 10th of October. Her daughters, Lou and Emma, would appreciate knowing in advance who may be likely to attend and request you let them know through Elsie.

Any memorial donations should be sent to West Brecon Cave Rescue Team (care of Pat Hall, 23 Heol Tawe, Abercrave, Swansea, SA9 1XP) or to a charity working with Muscular Dystrophy research or patients. (Details from Jopo and Elsie)

If anyone would like to write a short personal memory of Penny for the web-site just let me know.
